Flashback Friday on Swoony Boys Podcast and Fiction Fare

What is Flashback Friday you ask?
I know… I know… As if you don’t have a million and one memes to follow! BUT we’re hoping that you might want to participate in just one more!
If you’re like us, you read a lot… you add a ton to your ‘to be read’ lists and you sometimes forget about some amazing things because they get pushed down either your favorites list or that pile of books you need to read.  That doesn’t mean those books are no less amazing!
This is a way for us to highlight books that are older that maybe don’t get as much recognition now because they have been out for a while.  Books that we read and loved or books that have been on our To Be Read lists for ages, but we just haven’t gotten around to them yet.
On to the details – Pick a book… any book that meets the following criteria:
1.  Must have been published at least 2 years ago or
2.  Preferably is still in print or available to read
My pick is a book that belongs in a series that I’ve been meaning to finish for quite a while. I own the second book but haven’t had the chance to pick it up and read it!
A SACRED OATH A FALLEN ANGEL A FORBIDDEN LOVERomance was not part of Nora Grey’s plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment. But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen – and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.
I don’t usually read books about fallen angels, in fact, I never do. I picked this book up on a whim a couple of years ago. I was just getting into blogging and heard there was, possibly, going to be a movie made about this Saga. Naturally I wanted to be part of the craze, so I picked it up at Hastings for just a couple of bucks. I couldn’t bring myself to spend twenty dollars on a book that I might not have fallen in love with.
I did fall in love with this book. Becca Fitzpatrick made me love paranormal again. Which is why this book is part of Flashback Friday. I remember enjoying this book SO much. It was such a great read and, lets be honest here, Patch is just to beautiful to ignore. I have a review of this book HERE.
You should definitely check this book out. ADD TO GOODREADS

  1. I read this one awhile ago and remember enjoying the first book okay but the series kind of disappointing me after that and I never finished. It’s great that this one changed your mind about paranormal books 🙂

    1. I’ve heard that about this series. I’m hoping it isn’t that way for me. It’s only three more books and I definitely want to finish it but at the same time I’m hoping it isn’t one of those series that drags on and on. You know what I mean?

      Thanks for visiting,

      1. Yep, know exactly what you mean! Some series really tend to drag on, whether it be for money or just to add more drama to the series, etc. I tend to get tired of those series. If you liked the first book, you will probably like the rest, or at least I hope you do 😀

      2. Thanks. I know some people liked the first book but didn’t care for the second. I’m hoping it will be better than the first. Wishful thinking? I don’t know. 🙂

  2. I bought this book for my nook last year, and then my nook broke (it got squashed :O), and I sort of just forgot about it. I should really read it on my kindle now! Thanks for the reminder xD I’ve only read one other angel book, though, so I’m not sure how I’ll like this one.

    1. I enjoyed it (as previously mentioned) but I’ve only ever read this one. I’m not really the end all be all of angel books.

The two days that I spent reading it, my sister told me I was being bad. We aren’t really a “fallen angel” sort of family, I guess!
