23569428Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman

Imagine a time when the gods turn a blind eye to the agony of men, when the last of the hellions roam the plains and evil stirs beyond the edges of the map. A time when cities burn, and in their ashes, empires rise.

Alexander, Macedonia’s sixteen-year-old heir, is on the brink of discovering his fated role in conquering the known world but finds himself drawn to newcomer Katerina, who must navigate the dark secrets of court life while hiding her own mission: kill the Queen. But Kat’s first love, Jacob, will go to unthinkable lengths to win her, even if it means competing for her heart with Hephaestion, a murderer sheltered by the prince. And far across the sea, Zofia, a Persian princess and Alexander’s unmet fiancée, wants to alter her destiny by seeking the famed and deadly Spirit Eaters.

Weaving fantasy with the salacious and fascinating details of real history, New York Times bestselling author Eleanor Herman reimagines the greatest emperor the world has ever known: Alexander the Great, in the first book of the Blood of Gods and Royals series.

  1. I’ve never read the synopsis for this, although I heard of it briefly a week or two ago, but I have no and it sounds really detailed and complex. I haven’t read much historical, even historical fantasy (which I think this is) so don’t know how much I enjoy the genre- subjective, I guess- but this does sound interesting. Only thing is, it also sounds like it has a lot of character-lines and POVs going through it, and too much of that doesn’t work well for me. I can generally only deal with one POV, unless it’s done superbly.

    1. Romi,
It is supposed to be a cross between the Game of Thrones and Outlander so I’m sure there will be a ton of POV’s to keep up with. I haven’t read either series but my sister LOVES the Game of Thrones series. If you try it let me know what you think!
